DRSL: Integration and Application of Knowledge in Civic, Social, and Personal Contexts Freshman Year
This is an informational image that I made during my freshman year (info gram). This is an example of integration and application of knowledge in civic, social, and personal context because I used my knowledge of ethnic conflict and the knowledge of organizing information in more clear ways to organize a confusing topic. This helped me significantly with understanding this topic and the historical background of what happened during the Yugoslavian devolution. I ended up making these for other topics in future social studies courses that gave me trouble.
DRSL: Integration and Application of Knowledge in Civic, Social, and Personal Contexts Sophomore Year
Over the summer of my sophomore to junior year, I was presented with the opportunity to go to Europe with my school Spanish program. We were able to go to London, Paris, Madrid, and Barcelona and I was able to use the Spanish that I was taught in school and apply it to the real world.

For this DRSL, I used my argumentative essay. I feel like one of the most important skills that school teaches a student is writing, which I used to my advantage. Many scholarships require the writing of an essay so I took what I learned and applied it to a scholarship application. I followed the similar structures of my argumentative paper and made some adjustments to fit the outlines for the scholarship submission requirements. This involved the application of school skills outside of my classes. I earned a recognition for my paper in the scholarship application.
DRSL: Integration and Application of Knowledge in Civic, Social, and Personal Contexts Senior Year
This is an example of applying skills outside of school because I used the writing skills that I have been taught to write my Common Application college essay. This meant incorporating the rules for structuring a paper, using personal experiences, and concluding more narrative papers. When I put everything I have learned together, I was able to come up with a personal experience that fit one of the prompts for the Common Application.
